TAGGIES™, BEECH-NUT PARTNER TO OFFER HANNAFORD CUSTOMERS A MAIL-IN
PREMIUM
SPENCER, Mass. (Dec. 1) – Beech-Nut Baby Food and TAGGIES – two baby-products companies that
take pride in meeting and maintaining the highest standards – are
teaming up to offer a mail-in premium targeting customers who demand
quality as well as value.
Rolling out in December 2004, a promotion
planned to last five months will place a promotional piece in 50,000
Hannaford Markets private-label diaper packs. The promotion offers
customers who mail in 10 Beech-Nut baby food labels a choice of
two free TAGGIES products: a TAKE-A-LONG TAGGIE plush toy or the
Scholastic soft-cover book MY FIRST TAGGIES BOOK: SWEET DREAMS.
When customers receive their free product,
they’ll also receive a coupon good for free personalization
of their next TAGGIES blanket or pillow.
TAGGIES/Beech-Nut promotional diaper
packs will be available at all Hannaford markets with the exception
of cash-and-carry markets.
“TAGGIES is proud to join with
the undisputed leader in the baby-food industry, Beech-Nut, in
a wonderful project that addresses our own New England neighbors,” says
Julie Dix, who created the first TAGGIES blanket – a soft
baby blanket trimmed all around with the satiny tags that little
ones love to rub. Today Dix and her business partner, Danielle
Ayotte, run the multimillion-dollar taggies.company from their
Spencer, Mass., headquarters.
As a young company choosing business
and promotional partners, “we have been both careful and
fortunate in joining absolutely topnotch category leaders such
as Scholastic, which publishes our two TAGGIES books, and Beech-Nut,
which is the industry leader in excellence,” Dix says.
“We feel this ‘quality
by association’ is truly the kind of message that money can’t
buy,” Ayotte agrees. “Rather, it’s communicated
by identifying TAGGIES with brands that are already known and trusted
by a consumer who does the research and knows what’s best.”
All TAGGIES products meet or exceed all
voluntary standards and mandatory regulations set by the Consumer
Product Safety Commission and American Society for Testing and
Materials for children's blankets and toys, in addition to meeting
Canadian and European standards.
TAGGIES’ Random Acts of Kindness
is an ongoing corporate project, born along with the company itself,
in which Taggies toys have been given to needy children through
more than two dozen hospitals, charitable organizations,
and philanthropic foundations. Supported by customer donations
as well as the company’s own outreach, Random Acts of Kindness
has touched thousands of children with the loving gift of a Taggie “security
blanket.”
The Taggies product line includes small
and large fleece blankets, plush toys, pillows, crib sets and the
soft-cover Scholastic books "My First Taggies Book: Sweet
Dreams" and “My First Taggies Book: I Love You.” Taggies
products are sold at more than 4,000 independent specialty shops
nationwide and in Canada and through a dozen catalogs, including
Red Envelope and Lillian Vernon. Taggies books are sold at Wal-Mart,
Target, Borders, Barnes & Noble and other mass marketers. Taggies
products may be ordered online at www.taggies.com and by phone
at 1-877-4-TAGGIE.
